One’s favorite color is really a personal choice or preference. Color symbolism is subjective and depends on the meaning we attach to the various colors. Color evokes emotion, caused expression of thoughts and is a medium of communication. People respond to color culturally (eg red means well-being in meant Eastern societies), personally from experience and biologically (eg red means fear).

Orange evokes creativity, warmth, happiness, adventure, attraction, freshness and success.
Yellow means warmth, intellect, energy, caution, optimism, cheer and happiness.
Green evokes freshness, envy, nature, growth, wealth, luck and quality.
Blue means calm, trust, loyalty, depth, authenticity, peace and sadness.
Purple evokes luxury, spirituality, mystery, imagination, royalty, nobility and wisdom.
White means purity, cleanliness, emptiness, goodness, peace, innocence an simplicity.
Black evokes sophistication, formality, sorrow, boldness, elegance, mystery and death.
Brown means warmth, wholesomeness and dependability.
Overall, the variation in shade, texture and glossiness all matter to evoke different effects. The color you choose needs to match the user and their sensibilities, not your personal preference, unless of course, you are the end user.
